ST. Texas Rangers Jerseys . LOUIS -- A.J. Burnett had a special fan watching him pitch for the first time Friday night and he wanted to impress. He did. Burnett scattered seven hits for his first complete game of the year and the Philadelphia Phillies won their season-high fifth in a row, beating the St. Louis Cardinals 5-1. "It the first time in my career my grandmother has seen me pitch," Burnett said. "It was extra special. She came up from Little Rock, Arkansas, with my mom and brother. It was awesome. She saw a good game." "Im giving her the game ball," he said. The Phillies winning streak has come on the road. They have won nine of 11 overall. "Everybody is feeding off one another and its clicking," Burnett said. "Were having fun." St. Louis has dropped three in a row after winning five straight. "Were trying real hard," said Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina, who had two hits. "But were facing good pitchers. A.J. threw a good game, kept us off balance." Burnett (5-6) threw 111 pitches to earn his 24th complete game. He struck out three, walked one and hit two batters. "Complete games dont happen very often," Burnett said. "I got quick outs, groundball outs. I threw my changeup a lot. I bet I threw 20-plus tonight. It was one of the days when the hook wasnt there. Normally, we keep pounding the hook trying to get it, but the changeup was effective. That pitch helped more than anything." That was the key, Philadelphia manager Ryne Sandberg said. "He had command of three pitches and he seemed to really pound the zone," Sandberg said. "When we gave him the lead, he really held his stuff. He still had good stuff in the ninth inning. He did a lot of things to help himself win the game." That included his bat. Burnett, who came into the season as a career .110 hitter, contributed an RBI double and scored. The ball bounced on the track in front of the 400-foot mark. "With the infield in, Ive got hit it in the air, right?" Burnett said with a laugh. "I put a pretty good swing on it thought. Thats all I got, though. If that ball doesnt leave, its not going to leave at all." Marlon Byrd homered and John Mayberry Jr. added two hits and scored twice. Jimmy Rollins drove in two runs and extended his hitting streak to 14 games with two hits. Jaime Garcia (3-1) pitched into the sixth inning, giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks. He lost his third start in a row to the Phillies. "He pitched close enough to give us a chance," St. Louis manager Mike Matheny said. "He had good movement, he just got hit a couple of times." The game began after a 50-minute rain delay. St. Louis took a 1-0 lead in the third when Matt Carpenter was hit by a pitch with two outs and later scored on a single by Matt Holliday. The Phillies scored twice in the fifth and three more in the sixth. Mayberry, Burnett and Rollins doubled in the fifth. Burnett drove in his first run of the season and Rollins stretched his longest hitting streak since a 14-game run in 2007. "Any way I can help," Burnett said. "Whatever it takes." The Phillies chased Garcia in the sixth. Byrd led off with a homer. After Domonic Brown doubled, Seth Maness relieved. Mayberry hit an RBI single and scored on Rollins sacrifice fly. Asche grew up in nearby St. Charles County and played for the first time at Busch Stadium. ... Cardinals P Kevin Siegrist (strained left forearm) played long toss from 120 feet. He has not pitched since May 23. He said he might throw bullpen session Sunday. ... The former Toronto FC designated player played three of his 15 professional seasons with the team. HAMILTON, Ont. -- The Hamilton Bulldogs stressed the need for a strong start before Saturdays game, but the reality on the ice didnt go as planned. Instead, the Utica Comets scored twice in the first period and the Bulldogs never dug out of the early hole. Benn Ferriero scored twice and Joe Cannata made 32 saves as the Comets defeated the Bulldogs 3-1 in the American Hockey League on Saturday. "Our first point before the game was that we needed a good start," said Hamilton head coach Sylvain Lefebvre. "They scored two goals early in the first and then we found ourselves battling through adversity and trying to play catch-up. "We just didnt have it tonight. All-in-all, we just werent sharp and we couldnt make things work." Alexandre Grenier also scored for the Comets (12-20-5), who snapped a six-game losing streak with the victory. Comets leading scorer Pascal Pelletier had three assists to increase his point total to 11 in his past eight games. Maxime Macenauer scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs (19-15-4), while Dustin Tokarski stopped 31 shots. Sven Andrighetto had a chance to score for Hamilton three minutes into the game, but the Bulldogs winger could not get his stick on the cross-ice pass from linemate Martin St. Pierre. The Bulldogs had possibly their best scoring chance of the first period when Justin Courtnall sprung a short-handed rush with Greg Pateryn in the box for tripping. The wingers initial shot was stopped by Cannata, with Patrick Holland unsuccessfully jamming at the loose rebound. Utica opened the scoring with what looked like a harmless shot from Ferriero at 11:21. After waiting for a thick screen to develop in front of Tokarski, Peter Andersson released a slow, rising wrist shot that tipped off both Pelletier and Ferriero before beating the goaltender, who didnt see the puck until the last moment. The Comets doubled their advantage through an almost identical move on the power play at 13:42 when Henrik Tommernes fired a high slap shot that deflected off Grenier in front, and beat the goaltender ovver the blocking glove at the far post. Jason Grilli Jersey. The Bulldogs cut into their deficit early in the second period, when Macenauer jumped out of the penalty box and victimized the Comets power-play unit with his fresh legs. The centre latched onto a loose puck in the Utica zone and sped past the Comets defenders before squeezing a low shot through Cannata for a short-handed goal at 2:07. "When I got the puck, my first thought was to try to get to the net on a breakaway," said Macenauer. "I realized that the defenceman was very close, and I thought that the five hole was open, so I went for that." Hamilton began to press for an equalizer midway through the second, and Mike Blunden saw a wrist shot clang off the near post with the Bulldogs on the power play with 11 and a half minutes to play in the period. Despite their pressure, the Bulldogs could not find a second goal before the periods end. Hamilton got off to a sluggish start in the third, and Tokarski had to be alert to keep his team within a goal. A scramble with nine and a half minutes to play nearly yielded the equalizer on a power play, but Hamilton came up short. The Bulldogs finished 0-5 with the man advantage. Lefebvre lamented his teams inability to sustain pressure after its power plays. "We had one good power play, and I hoped that it might give us some momentum, but we couldnt follow up with good shifts after that," he said. "We had three or four good scoring chances on that one, and a few flurries here and there, but nothing convincing." Ferriero put the game beyond doubt with 35 seconds to play, putting his second goal of the game into the empty net. Macenauer argued that he and his teammates will need to get back to basics if they want to return to the win column. "We have to keep things simple and get back to doing what we were doing when we were winning," he said. "Our forecheck is a strength of our team, and we have some fast guys here, so we need to simplify things and use those parts of our game." Cheap Colombia Jerseys Cheap England Jerseys Cheap Spain Jerseys Cheap France Jerseys Cheap Belgium Jerseys Cheap Argentina Jerseys Cheap Portugal Jerseys Cheap Brazil Jerseys Wholesale Mexico Jerseys Wholesale Colombia Jerseys Cheap Germany Jerseys Cheap Mexico Jerseys Wholesale Belgium Jerseys Wholesale Mexico Jerseys Wholesale Portugal Jerseys Wholesale Germany Jerseys Wholesale Brazil Jerseys Wholesale France Jerseys Wholesale Argentina Jerseys Cheap England Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Colombia Jerseys ' ' '
