Some of us are morning people while others are night owls. Jose de Jesus Corona Mexico Jersey . In golf some are early season performers and others wait until the fall. So far in his career, David Hearn is most definitely not someone who enjoys the early part of the calendar. At least not when it comes to logging high finishes. "For whatever reason, Ive never had much success early in the year," said Hearn. "The West Coast  just hasnt been good for me." In the four tournaments hes played since the calendar changed years, Hearn as two missed cuts, a T58 and a T38. Its a slow but not unexpected beginning. A year ago, in five West Coast starts, he missed three cuts. A year prior to that, he posted a tie for 10th at the SONY in Hawaii before missing the next two cuts. "Id like to be in a better spot, obviously," said Hearn from Florida where he was getting in some practice before heading to Los Angeles for his next start. "Hopefully that will happen at Riviera." Hearn isnt worried about his spot on the money list just yet. In fact, hes quite optimistic about where things are headed. He says his game is coming together faster than in any previous years, adding theres no glaring holes in his performance - its just a matter of tightening everything up. There hasnt been much down time for the Brantford, Ont., product of late. He played four times before Christmas on the new wrap-around schedule and then teamed with Brad Fritsch to represent Canada in the World Cup in Australia in late November. There was a little time spent at the TaylorMade test centre dialing in his new gear as well as some family time back in the snow in Ontario. And he made the trek to Ann Arbor, Mich., to watch his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs play the Detroit Red Wings outdoors at the Big House. But shortly after, it was back to work. Hearn enjoyed his best year as a professional in 2013, earning more than $1.1 million. The highlight of his season came at the John Deere Classic where he lost in a playoff. That performance didnt surprise him in any way; he always believed he had the talent to play at that level. And it provided a taste of what hed like to experience more often. "Thats what Im trying to accomplish each and every week," he said. "You just want to put yourself in that position as much as you can." Rather than being known as a long driver or a pure ball-striker or a great putter, Hearns strength has always been his consistency with every club in his bag, his all-around game. Its something hes been focused on in the early part of this season. "My stats are not that great but if I can just improve the numbers a little bit Ill be happy," said Hearn, who will continue to use his long putter this season. "It really just boils down to being competitive. Im always trying to improve." Hearn has always been an ardent flag-waver and senses an up-tick in the play of Canadian professionals on various tours. He thinks some of that is awareness caused by his best friend out on tour. "I think Canadians are getting highlighted and inspired thanks to how well Graham [DeLaet] is playing," he stated. "Its fun to watch him play these days. It doesnt seem to matter what he does on Thursday and Friday, he just finds a way to get into contention on the weekend." For Canadian golf, Hearn said, that builds momentum. Its something thats been missing for a while, since the days Mike Weir was seemingly in the hunt to win every week. "When Mike was in his prime, I dont think people realized how good he was," Hearn stated. "It wasnt just the Masters win, it was major after major, week after week, he was in contention. "That definitely inspired me and I think thats happening again. We have a lot of good players right now." For the next couple of weeks, Hearn will be in the cheering section, watching Canadas athletes at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Obviously hockey will be at the forefront of his viewing schedule but he also said hell follow almost any sport and is amazed at such endeavours as biathlon. "It will be disappointing being in the U.S., though," he laughed. "Ill have to watch mostly U.S. athletes." If his play continues to improve, two years from Hearn might be representing Canada at the Olympics in Rio rather than watching from a distance. Alfredo Talavera Mexico Jersey .C. -- Only two Syracuse teams have won their first 20 games, and C. Giovani dos Santos Jersey .com) - Guard Greivis Vasquez and forward Patrick Patterson, two key pieces to the Toronto Raptors run to an Atlantic Division title in 2013-14, were both given qualifying offers by the team on Saturday.SOCHI, Russia -- Ukrainian Olympic chief Sergei Bubka said he has "great sympathy" with the desire of his athletes to wear black armbands to remember those killed in the political unrest in Kyiv. But he says it was agreed "after consultation with the IOC" that wearing armbands would not be in line with the Olympic Charter. "Both parties agreed that another way of allowing Ukraine athletes to mark their respects should be found," he said, adding that athletes on the team had observed a minute of silence in the Olympic Village and issued statements or gave interviews about thhe crisis. Raul Jimenez Mexico Jersey. Bubka, a pole vault great, issued a statement Thursday following "erroneous reports" that he had prevented athletes from wearing armbands. The International Olympic Committee denied that it had received a request from the Ukrainians to wear armbands during the games. Ukrainian skier Bogdana Matsotska withdrew from the Sochi Olympics in response to the deaths of anti-government protesters in Ukraine. Bubka has urged Ukrainian athletes to remain in Sochi as a sign of unity. But he has also said he respects the rights of athletes to make their own decision. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaCheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

PORTLAND, Ore. -- As time wound down in the Trail Blazers victory over the Oklahoma City, LaMarcus Aldridge was showered with shouts of "MVP! MVP!" from the Portland fans. Aldridge had a season-high 38 points and added 13 rebounds in the Blazers 111-104 win Wednesday night that snapped the Thunders eight-game winning streak. It was his ninth double-double and 15th game with at least 20 points this season. He made a career-high 17 field goals. "Just surreal. It was humbling to have that moment here," Aldridge said of the crowds reaction. "Ive been here so long and Ive had very few of those type of chants here. So that was fun. I thought that made the night complete for me." The victory gives the surprising Blazers a 16-3 record this season, best in the Western Conference and second only to Indiana overall. Portland has won 14 of its last 15 games, a stretch that includes an 11-game winning streak. Nicolas Batums 3-pointer with 29.9 seconds to go all but sealed it for Portland, which had lost seven straight against Oklahoma City. The Thunder led by as many as 12 points in the first half, but Aldridge led a third-quarter rally and Portland built a 91-84 lead on consecutive 3-pointers from Dorell Wright and Damian Lillard with 7:58 left. Russell Westbrooks 3-pointer pulled the Thunder within 95-94 before Reggie Jacksons two free throws gave them a short-lived lead with 5:34 to go. Aldridge hit a layup and a jumper to make it 105-100 for the Blazers. Durant and Westbrook narrowed it again with consecutive baskets, but Batums 3-pointer made it 108-104 before Durant missed a 3 on the other end. The Blazers made free throws for the final margin. Durant finished with 33 for the Thunder, who were playing the second game of a back-to-back after defeating Sacramento 97-95 Tuesday night. Westbrook had 21 points. "He was shooting turnarounds from almost the 3-point line over the top of our bigs and knocking them down," Durant said of Aldridge. "Thats what great players do, they come through in the clutch and make shots." Batum and Lillard added 14 points apiece for the Blazers, who were coming off a 106-102 victory over Indiana on Monday. Portland is 8-1 at home. Aldridge scored 16 of his points in the third quarter, when the Blazers outscored the Thunder 35-21. Gareth Bale Real Madrid Jersey. "I dont know if I have the words, to be honest," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said of Aldridges night. "Offensively, obviously he can score. But I liked his toughness, I liked his leadership, I liked his competitive fire. As much as he played very well, it was a lot of the intangibles that I really appreciated from him tonight." Wrights bank jumper evened the game at 27 to start the second quarter. It was close throughout the half, with Portlands Batum on Durant much of the time. Durant took off on a fast break for a dunk and added a free throw to give the Thunder a 55-47 lead, their biggest of the game to that point. Westbrook attempted a 3-pointer and the refs called a foul on Portlands Wesley Matthews, prompting an angry reaction from Stotts, who was given a technical, and the Thunder finished the half on a 9-0 for a 59-48 advantage. Durant led all scorers in the half with 17 points. "They hit a lot of tough 2s on us, shots we can live with," Durant said. "But they made enough to beat us." One bright spot for the Blazers was centre Robin Lopez, who had 12 points and five rebounds in the first half. Acquired by the Blazers from New Orleans in a three-team off-season trade, Lopez finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Batums 3 got the Blazers within 67-64 before Matthews layup got them within one midway through the third quarter. Batums pull-up jumper gave Portland a 70-69 lead, and Aldridge added a long jumper. The Blazers clung to the lead until Durants jumper tied it at 78, but Aldridge answered with a turnaround jumper to cap a 10-point streak for the two-time All-Star. "Ive been saying it from the start -- hes the best power forward in the game," Matthews said NOTES: Oklahoma City is 9-0 at home but 4-4 on the road. ... HOUSTON -- The Seattle Mariners are next-to-last in the American League in scoring. Wayne Gallman Giants Jersey . Playing the only team below them gave their offence a boost. Justin Smoak homered to cap an eight-run burst in the seventh inning, leading Hisashi Iwakuma and the Mariners over the Houston Astros 9-8 Saturday night. "We have had a habit of doing it all in one inning," Smoak said. "It was good to get something going there. We got it going, kept it going and were able to hold on there at the end." Given a 2-1 lead, Dallas Keuchel (2-2) left after walking the first three batters of the seventh. Jose Cisneros forced in the run that made it 2-2 when he walked Mike Zunino, and Mchael Saunders followed with a two-run double. Stefen Romero and Robinson Cano added RBI singles, Kyle Seager doubled in run and Smoaks two-run homer off Raul Valdes made it 9-2. The inning was Seattles highest-scoring since getting eight in the second at Texas on May 30, 2012. "A win is a win," Seattle manager Lloyd McClendon said. "People say you win ugly. I dont buy that. A win is a win. I told you guys, playing great and losing, you dont get the ice cream. We get ice cream tonight. Thats all that counts." McClendon was ejected in the seventh after the walk that loaded the bases. Catcher Jason Castro went to the mound to talk to Keuchel, and when he began walking back to the plate, McClendon was tossed by plate umpire James Hoye for arguing. "I told him that the manager told the catcher to go talk to the pitcher," McClendon said. "I said he had been out there once. Obviously, he was trying to get more time. That could be construed as a trip to the mound. I said it was in the rule book, and he threw me out." Iwakuma (1-0) made his first appearance after starting the season on the disabled list because of a sprained right middle finger. He allowed four runs and six hits in 6 2-3 innings; the Astros stopped his consecutive scoreless innings streak at 25 dating to last year. "Overall, todays game I was able to pitch well," Iwakuma said through a translator. "I was able to command both sides of the plate and that helped with pretty much all my pitches." Fernando Rodney escaped a bases-loaded jam in the eighth and finished for his seventh save. Keuchel allowed four runs and four hits with three strikeouts, leaving after walking the bases loaded with no outs in the seventh. "Out of the gate, I didnt really feel too well, but I had some early contact. Some groundball outs kind of got me in a groove," Keuchel said. "It feels like a train hit me in the seventh. Its not like me to walk three guys in a row. I felt like a couple of those pitches were close, but the umpire has the final say." Keuchel took a two-out shutout into the fifth, then gave up an RBI single in the sixth that closed the Mariners to 2-1. "A couple times through the order, he was able to keep us off balance," Zunino said. "We were able to get some good at-bats together and cycle through. Once guys start feeling good, it starts opening up for everyone." Jonathan Villar and Chris Carter each homered in Houstons four-run seventh as the Astros dropped to 10-20. Carter also tripled and Marwin Gonzalez had three hits. Carter hit an RBI triple to the centre-field hill in the eighth and scored on Alex Presleys single, making it 9-8. After Yoervis Medina walked the bases loaded, Rodney induced Jose Altuve to fly out. "Great response," Houston manager Bo Porter said. "Those guys, its a credit to them. They keep plugging away. We talk about it all the time. Regardless of what happens, every at-bat counts. Grind your at-bats out, and today was a prime example of that, and we put ourselves in position to make a huge comeback." NOTES: After hitting the game-winning single Friday night, Astros rookie OF George Springer was given the day off. Springer, called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on April 16, had started the last 14 games. "Its more of just a breather," Porter said. ... Seattle OF Abraham Almonte, in a 4-for-37 slump in his last 10 games, was out of the lineup. "Thats why hes sitting, because its not working," McClendon said. "Its that simple. Hes not playing because hes not producing." Davis Webb Youth Jersey . Larry Fitzgerald Sr., a reporter for a Minnesota newspaper, said in his tweet, "The world saw on Monday night football the politics and business of football. If its been decided that you are not getting the ball, just win." Larry Fitzgerald Jr. sent out his own tweet Tuesday night. "My fathers inflammatory comments dont reflect my feelings or mood," the younger Fitzgerald wrote. "Were 1-0 & working tirelessly to be 2-0 this week thats my only concern." On Thursday, the Cardinals all-time leading receiver elaborated, and tried to make light of the situation. "Its hard to make news with one catch," he said. "My dad seemed to find a way to do it." Actually, when Fitzgerald makes only one catch, it is news. For most of the past decade, he has been the go-to guy for Arizona. But when coach Bruce Arians took over last year, he moved Fitzgerald into the slot and put Michael Floyd at the wideout spot. Now Floyd is catching those deep passes that used to go to Fitzgerald. The addition of speedsters John Brown and Ted Ginn Jr., as well as tight end John Carlson and the emergence of running back Andre Ellington, further diminishes Fitzgeralds role, at least it did in the opener. Arians insists that his system does not target specific receivers but leaves it to quarterback Carson Palmer to throw to whoever is open. But Fitzgerald said that because of the game plan he knew he wouldnt have a big role against the Chargers. His father has chimed in with criticism in the past. "Its not my first time," the younger Fitzgerald said, "and I would assume it probably wont be my last, either. But like I said, Im a man and what comes from my mouth comes from my mouth, what comes from other peoples mouths comes from their mouths. If you dont hear it from the horses mouth, its not accurate." He said he felt he had to send a reply to what his father had said. "I didnt want my teammates thhinking that was my concern," Fitzgerald said. Dalvin Tomlinson Giants Jersey. "I just wanted to make sure that everybody knew I was fully committed to doing what we needed to do to get a win." Fitzgerald had been one of the leagues best at the wideout spot, and he has acknowledged the difficulty of learning a new position. He said it doesnt matter whether he likes it or not. "It is what it is," he said. "I come to work every day and try to prepare the best that I can and get ready for the game, same approach Ive always taken." This could well be the end of his decade-long run in Arizona. His salary cap number for next season is $26 million, and he would almost certainly have to take a pay cut to return, if hes even asked to do so. He might think its a good time to move on. With his fourth-quarter catch Monday night, Fitzgerald barely kept alive his string of catching a pass in 150 consecutive games. The difficult 22-yard reception was a big play in the Cardinals 10-play, 91-yard drive for the winning touchdown. Earlier, as if to show the talent he still possesses, the 31-year-old receiver caught Palmers pass with one outstretched hand. But he was out of bounds. And for one of the few times over the past decade, Fitzgerald wasnt on the field for the winning touchdown, a five-yard screen pass to Brown. "Its no problem. We won," Fitzgerald said. "Ive been on the field for a lot of winning touchdowns." Arians said Fitzgerald had missed practice because of a sore knee. "We didnt know if he was even going to play," Arians said, "but he is tough and came back and taped it up. ... I learned my lesson last year not to ask him things to do in a game that youre not practicing, and its not fair to the quarterback, either. There were times when he was not in there on third down. That was due to that." Fitzgerald doesnt expect this lull to continue, at least not this bad. "I dont want to go one catch for 16 weeks if thats what youre asking me," he said. Sixteen catches for a season "would be discouraging," he said. "That cap number would be REAL big at the end of the year." Then he and the reporters surrounding him laughed. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
TORONTO - Starting pitcher J. Neil Walker Mets Jersey .A. Happ and catcher Erik Kratz had a plan. The left-hander came through with six solid innings and, with two home runs and three RBI from Edwin Encarnacion, the Blue Jays defeated the Cleveland Indians 4-2 on Thursday. Happ (2-1) allowed six hits, two walks and one run, on a homer by David Murphy in the fifth inning, in his third start of the season. The left-handed pitcher believes preparation with Kratz was the key to his success. "We went over some stuff before the game about how we wanted to attack them a little bit more deliberately," Happ said. "And for the most part we were able to do that." Blue Jays manager John Gibbons, who won his 400th game with Toronto, liked how the teams starting battery operated. "(Happ) stepped up," said Gibbons. "I thought Kratz did a nice job with him, working that fastball on the inside part of the plate. That was big for him, it really was. And big for us." Happs control impressed the Indians lineup as well. "His fastball was really getting on guys," Cleveland left-fielder Ryan Raburn said. "I know its 92-93 but out of his hand, it just seemed a lot harder. And he spotted his pitches. He didnt miss over the plate a whole lot from what I saw." Encarnacion, who has eight homers on the season, also had a double and lined out to third in his other at-bat. Juan Francisco hit his seventh homer of the season for the Blue Jays (21-21) who won the rubber match of a three-game series with the Indians (19-22) to complete a 5-4 home stand. If Happ is battling to prove to some people that he belongs in the rotation, he preferred not to discuss it in detail. "I dont want to get into that," Happ said. "I think youre always doing that to somebody. That person may change or those people may change." Encarnacion has been the designated hitter for the past two games with Adam Lind playing first base. The change was made just before Wednesdays game because Encarnacion had spasms in his upper back. "It felt a lot better today, so Im ready to go," Encarnacion said. "I felt a lot better at the plate. The last couple of games Ive been getting hits. Ive been great at the plate the last couple of weekend, and it makes me happy and very proud because when I play like that I know I can help the team win." "Hes one of the top sluggers in the game," Gibbons said. "Got off to a slow start, then he kicked it in. You look where hes at now, too, hes been barrelling a lot of balls all year, especially the last month, and a number of times he got nothing to show for it. So numbers could be even better now with little breaks here or there, a little luck. "But hes key to this team, of course with him and (Jose) Bautista back to back. Thats big. Of course, Lindy and now with Francisco. Those two (Encarnacion and Bautista), we know what to expect, theyre a given. But I like the way our lineup looks now. Its that much stronger, top to bottom." Cleveland dropped to 4-10 when facing a left-handed starter, 0-8 on the road, this season. Happ opened the season on the disabled list with a sore back and began pitching from the bullpen on his return. Casey Janssen, who also started the season on the disabled list, pitched the ninth for his second save of the season. Cleveland right-hander Danny Salazar (1-4) needed 98 pitches to work through four innings and was replaced by right-hander C.C. Lee to start the fifth with the Blue Jays leading 2-1. Salazar allowed five hits, including second-inning homers by Encarnacion and Francisco, two walks and two runs. He also hit a batter. "I just didnt have a good feeling for the ball today to command my fastball, and my change-up wasnt there," Salazar said. He felt that he made a good pitch on Franciscos homer. "I was just behind in the count," he said. "Theyre going to be ready to hit everything there." Lee faced two batters. Bautista led off the fifth with a single and Encarnacion lofted a drive to left on a 3-2 fastball. It was the second time he has hit two homers in a game this season and it was the 13th multi-homer game of his career. Left-hander Brett Cecil pitched the seventh for Toronto and right-hander Steve Delabar took over in the eighth and was greeted by Raburns double. Carlos Santana walked. But Asdrubal Cabrera lined out to right and pinch hitter Lonnie Chisenhall lined out to centre. Yan Gomes singled up the middle to cut the lead to two runs and bring in left-hander Aaron Loup. He struck out Murphy, who had five hits and five RBI in Clevelands 15-4 win on Wednesday. NOTES: Right-hander Dustin McGowan, who is 2-2 with a 5.08 earned-run average in eight starts, has been removed from the starting rotation and will pitch from the bullpen. Right-handers Marcus Stroman and Todd Redmond are candidates to start in his place next Tuesday in Boston. Right-hander Liam Hendriks who is 5-0 with a 1.51 ERA at triple-A Buffalo is another possibility. … Centre-fielder Colby Rasmus (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday and outfielder Anthony Gose was recalled from Buffalo. …The Indians put outfielder Nyjer Morgan (right knee sprain) on the DL and called up infielder Jesus Aguilar from triple-A Columbus. … The Blue Jays travel to Arlington, Tex., to play the Rangers in a three-game series that opens Friday with Drew Hutchison (1-3, 4.37 ERA) starting against Yu Darvish (3-1, 2.33 ERA).Jeurys Familia Mets Jersey .com) - Colorado may be ahead of the Vancouver Canucks in the Western Conference standings, but they are a club that the Avalanche may want to avoid in the playoffs. Darryl Strawberry Jersey . Louis Blues are reportedly taking restricted free agent forward Vladimir Sobotka to arbitration.INDIANAPOLIS - Colts coach Chuck Pagano befriended John Harbaugh years ago. Now Harbaughs former defensive co-ordinator in Baltimore is about to become a Ravens fan all over again. After seeing three AFC division leader lose in Week 15, AFC South champion Indianapolis moved back into contention for a first-round bye with Sundays 25-3 win over Houston. If the Colts and Ravens each win their final two games, Indy can start prepping for a divisional round game at home. "I always root for those guys, so I guess well be rooting for those guys again," Pagano said Monday. "Our focus is on us because it really wont matter if we dont take care of business, but well root for those guys, too." Last Monday, after losing at Cincinnati, the Colts (9-5) appeared to be locked into the AFCs No. 4 seed and were trying to generate some momentum before hosting their first playoff game of the post-Peyton Manning era. But after losses by Denver (11-3), New England (10-4) and Cincinnati (9-5) this past week, the Colts find themselves right back in the seeding chase. Indy closes out the season with a trip to Kansas City, which locked up a playoff spot with a win at Oakland, and at home against a Jacksonville team that has been much better over the second half of the season. Win both and anything, including a longshot jump to the No. 1 seed, is still possible. Cincinnati finishes at home against Minnesota and Baltimore. New England visits Baltimore and wraps up the regular season at home against Buffalo. Denver has trips to Houston and at Oakland, and the Chiefs close things out at San Diego. So if the Colts and Ravens win their last two, Indy have a better overall record than either the Bengals or Baltimore and would win a tiebreaker over New England on better conference record. Theyre just not looking at it quite the same way. "Regardless of what happens with anyone else, we want to win the rest of our games and kind of be catching fire here at the right time going into the playoffs," left tackle Anthony Castonnzo said. Lucas Duda Mets Jersey. "We want to be playing our best ball regardless of what happens with any other teams." After six weeks of slow starts and mostly frustrating football, the Colts looked more like the early-season team that jumped out to a big division lead. They led 20-3 at halftime, forced two turnovers, set up another score with a long punt return and produced their most lopsided victory since Sept. 29. It was easily their most complete game since Pro Bowl receiver Reggie Wayne went down with a season-ending knee injury Oct. 20, and the difference came down to adjustments Andrew Luck & Co. made this week. Indy started the game with a no-huddle offence, got more receivers involved with a series of screens and was able to run the football in the second half. Darius Butler picked off two passes, too, giving him eight over the last two seasons, and Robert Mathis forced his second safety of the season. Thats how the Colts want things to look each week, not just against the scuffling Texans. "Everybodys jockeying for playoff position," Butler said. "You have the teams that are either fighting in the hunt or trying to climb another seed or two. So were jockeying for playoff position. We know every win counts, thats what we can control and what we do. Hopefully, other teams fall off pace, but we just want to keep stacking up wins." Notes: Pagano said offensive lineman Joe Reitz, who started at guard Sunday, was diagnosed with a concussion and will go through the NFL protocol. ... Most of the Colts other injured players are considered day-to-day. Those on the list are: linebacker Daniel Adongo (hamstring), receiver LaVon Brazill (foot), running back Donald Brown (stinger), safety Sergio Brown (groin), fullback Stanley Havili (knee), centre Samson Satele (elbow), cornerback Greg Toler (groin). ... In the next phase, Paul Marshalls floated pass put Gilroy over in the left corner.Jackson failed to convert from out wide before a Kelleher-inspired attack saw Carty punish further Ulster indiscipline with a 38th-minute penalty, reopening a 14-point margin. The Canadian men improved their career record against Portugal to 15-9-0. Canada, which is currently ninth in the series standings, is coming off three impressive performances in the U.S., New Zealand and Japan, where it qualified for the quarter-finals of the elite Cup competition each time. Nanyak Dala, Conor Trainor and Sean White also scored tries Friday for Canada, which will face No. 8 Argentina and No. 4 England on Saturday. Captain Nathan Hirayama, who missed the final day of action in Tokyo last time out due to injury, converted all five Canadian tries. Pedro Bettencourt had the lone try for No. 14 Portugal. Moonlight opened the scoring with a try just 39 seconds into the match. Hirayama then converted tries from Dala and Trainor to put Canada up 21-0 by the 7:20 mark of the first half. Bettencourt got Portugal on the board late, cutting Canadas lead to 21-7 at the break. Moonlight struck quickly to open the second half with a try 50 seconds in. That was all the scoring until Whites try in extra time. In other games, Fiji opened its title defence by blowing away Wales 42-7. England was the last team to win three in a row, 10 years ago. The Pacific Islanders, coming off victory in Tokyo last weekend, led the charge of all the big guns on the opening night. World series leader South Africa defeated France 31-7, and New Zealand brushed aside Scotland 33-0. Of the top four seeds, England had the hardest time having to ward off a feisty challenge from Argentina, 19-12. In qualifying for core team status in next seasons series, Japan was the most impressive in romps over Uruguay and Trinidad and Tobago, thanks to wingers Yoshikazu Fujita and Kenki Fukuoka, who were released by 15s coach Eddie Jones. Host Hong Kong, Zimbabwe, Italy and Russia also emerged unbeaten in the 12-team second-tier competition. The winner of that tournament will join the core teams in the first-tier series next year. Also Friday, the Canadian women defeated France 24-0 to win their second consecutive Hong Kong Invitational Sevens title. The event was a tuneup for the Womens Sevens World Series tournament next week in Guangzhou, China. Canada is currently third in the womens series with 48 points. LOS ANGELES, Calif. Carlos Gomez Jersey . - The Clippers didnt shoot well, couldnt build more than a 10-point lead, and still managed to usher in the Steve Ballmer era with a victory for their new owner.Blake Griffin scored 23 points, making two free throws with five seconds left, and Chris Paul added 22 in a season-opening 93-90 win Thursday over the Oklahoma City Thunder, who lost another star to injury when Russell Westbrook broke his right hand.It was pretty ugly, Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. We have 81 more games to fix it.Los Angeles hardly resembled its new ad campaign of Be Relentless early on, when the Thunder scored the games first eight points as Ballmer cupped his hands and yelled to his team from his baseline seat near their bench. He paid a record $2 billion to buy the team after 33-year owner Donald Sterling was banned for life by the NBA for racist remarks. The Thunder sent the Clippers packing in the second round of the playoffs last spring, shortly after the Sterling scandal erupted. What I was proud of, they kept fighting defensively, Rivers said. I dont know that we win this game last year.Already without injured Kevin Durant, the Thunder lost Westbrook to a small fracture in his right hand in the second quarter. He left Staples Center wearing a soft cast on his hand and didnt talk with reporters. He will be reassessed Friday. Its unfortunate the way it is right now, but we have to figure out how to get better from all of our experiences, Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. Good teams and good players bounce back from adversity, and our guys understand that.Perry Jones scored a career-high 32 points, making 9 of 11 free throws. The Thunder are 0-2, having dropped their opener a night earlier at Portland.Serge Ibakas 3-pointer at the buzzer went off the rim. He finished with 17 points.Westbrook appeared to hurt his hand while going for a rebound in a crowd. He didnt return and finished with two points and four assists in eight minutes. He appeared to have a verbal exchange with a fan while exiting through the tunnel.Im just glad we all fought and didnt give up despite the injury, Jones said. I dont know why its going on, but all we can do is play our hearts out and keep fighting until everybody gets back. The Thunder cut the deficit to four points on a 3-pointer by Ibaka with 4 1/2 minutes left in the game. J.J. Redick answered with a 3-pointer after missing his first seven shots to extend the Clippers lead to 89-82.During a timeout, the video board flashed to Ballmer, his face contorted and his hands clapping furiously as fans cheered. In wrinkled khaki pants and a checkered shirt, and his credential hung around his neck, Ballmer looked like an average fan.The Thunder cut it to one and after their 27th turnover, Telfair fouled Paul, who missed both free throws with 13 seconds to go.I will be here early to shoot some, Paul said.Telfair forced up an out-of-control shot that missed and Adams fouled Griffin in a scramble for the ball with 5 seconds left. Griffin hit both free throws, which the Clippers needed because Nick Collison got fouled and made both to cut it to 91-90 with 4 seconds to go.Griffin fouled out after he and Ibaka were called for double fouls. Redick made up for his earlier misses when he went to the line and hit both free throws for a 93-90 lead with 2 seconds left. The Clippers shot 39 per cent from the floor and got outrebounded 47-33.We had to defend in order to win the game, Paul said. Thats what great teams are built off of, defence and rebounding.Sterlings estranged wife Shelly was in her usual midcourt seat. She retained it, along with some other perks, and was given the title of owner emeritus by Ballmer as part of the sale. New NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who banned Donald Sterling, was applauded when he was introduced after the first quarter.Oklahoma Citys early lead took the home crowd out of it moments after the pregame hype ended. Before the Clippers were introduced, they stood watching a video that proclaimed it a new time in franchise history.QUOTE OF THE NIGHTI dont have a K.D. countdown every day, Brooks said.TIP-INSThunder: G Reggie Jackson (right ankle sprain) and G Jeremy Lamb (lower back sprain) sat out. ATLANTA -- An eight-game losing streak was way too long for Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez. Charlie Blackmon Rockies Jersey . "It was nice to shake hands," Gonzalez said. "It seems its been an eternity." Justin Upton and Freddie Freeman hit two of Atlantas four homers off Stephen Strasburg, and the Braves snapped their long skid with a 7-6 victory over the Washington Nationals on Friday night. Rain delayed the game by 1 hour, 11 minutes in the middle of the sixth inning. Atlanta, which nearly blew a 7-0 lead, moved within 3 1/2 games of NL East-leading Washington. The Nationals, who had won two straight and four of six, have lost 21 of 30 against the Braves. "After a rough road trip and an off day, its nice to come back and win a ballgame that we needed," Upton said. "Theyre a good ballclub. We split with them the last time we played. Its good to jump out and get the first one." Strasburg (8-10) gave up two more homers than his previous career high. He allowed seven runs, seven hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in five innings, dropping to 1-3 with a 6.99 ERA in seven starts at Turner Field. Strasburg, who fell to 1-8 with a 5.25 ERA in 12 road starts this year, was coming off a dominating home performance against Philadelphia last Sunday, striking out 10, walking one and holding the Phillies scoreless for seven innings. "Just not executing pitches -- thats the bottom line," Strasburg said. "It feels good out of the hand, Im just not hitting the spot well enough. I really dont know how to work on it. Some days Im hitting the spot and some days Im a couple inches up, so Ive got to roll with it, try to miss down instead of miss up." Ervin Santana (11-6) held the Nationals scoreless until the sixth, when Asdrubal Cabrera had an RBI single, and Anthony Rendon hit his 15th homer to make it 7-4. Santana, who allowed four runs, four hits and two walks, struck out four in six innings and won his fourth straight decision. Wilson Ramos fifth homer and Cabreras sacrifice fly cut Atlantas lead to 7-6 off reliever Anthony Varvaro in the seventh. Craig Kimbrel earned his 33rd save in 37 chances by striking out Ramos, retiring Kevin Frandsen on a comebacker, and fanning pinch-hitter Danny Espinosa. The Braves went up 2-0 in the first on Justin Uptons 20th homer, and they made it 6-0 in the second on B.J. Uptons eighth shot and Freemans 16th. Tommy La Stella put Atlanta ahead 7-0 in the fifth with his first career home run. Washingtons Denard Span went 3 for 4 with a run scored and reached base safely for the 34th straight game. TRAINERS ROOM Nationals: RF Jayson Werth was given the night off because of a sore right ankle and right shoulder, but manager Matt Williams said he should be in the lineup for the series next two games. Werths replacement, Steven Souza, hit the wall so hard in an attempt to catch Freemans homer that his glove fell on the warning track. He stayed down on his back for about one minute but remained in the game after a trainer checked on him in right field. Souza lined out in his only at-bat before Frandsen replaced him in the fourth. "Hes OK," Williams said. "He banged the wall pretty good, full speed into the wall. His shoulders hurting, pretty good impact, so well see how he is tomorrow." Braves: SS Andrelton Simmons missed his second straight game with a left ankle sprain, and Gonzalez said the earliest he might return is Monday when the Los Angeles Dodgers visit Turner Field. Todd Helton Jersey . Hazard lasted just 18 minutes in Tuesdays contest before being substituted with the calf problem, and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes he will be without his star winger for at least the next two weeks. Jose Reyes Jersey . Robert Griffin III, the No. 2 pick in the 2012 draft, set numerous rookie records and was picked AP Offensive Rookie of the Year for the Washington Redskins.BROSSARD, Que. -- Alex Galchenyuk feels it is time to step up and become a dominant player, whether it is at centre or on left wing. The 20-year-old will be tried out at centre during the Montreal Canadiens pre-season after spending most of his first two NHL seasons on the wing. "The main thing is I want to prove to myself that I can take that extra step to be a more productive player, because I truly believe I can be that player," Galchenyuk said Thursday as the Canadiens opened camp with medical and fitness testing. "I pushed myself hard in the summer and I just cant wait to get it started." Galchenyuk was mainly a centre for the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League when the Canadiens drafted him third overall in 2012, citing his flashy skills as a scorer and playmaker as well as his six-foot-two, 205-pound frame. General manager Marc Bergevin said this week it was time to see if he can adapt to the centremans position at the NHL level, particularly with its defensive demands. "Im really confident playing on the wing," Galchenyuk said. "I like the position. "Ive played it a lot. But I dont know if Id be better playing at centre or wing. Its for the coaches to decide. Centre in the NHL is a way different game than centre in junior. Everything has to click. But Im excited for the challenge. Well see where it takes me." If he makes the move, one of the four incumbent centres will be bumped to the wing. The four in place are David Desharnais, Tomas Plekanec, Lars Eller and newcomer Manny Malhotra. Some feel Eller is most likely to move if Galchenyuk shows hes ready. "I think of myself as a centre," said Eller. "Well see what happens." Galchenyuk had nine goals and 27 points in 45 games as a rookie in 2012-13 and added 13 goals and 31 points in 65 games last season. They were decent numbers for a teenager whose ice time was carefully managed by coach Michel Therrien, but now they want to see how he handles more responsibility. Eller, who signed a four-year contract extension in the off-season, was not surprised Galchenyuk will get a look. "Theyve been saying since they drafted him that they will try him at centre at some point," he said. "Thats why they drafted him. "Things have a way of falling into place. Things can change quickly, one way or the other." The Canadiens have 64 players in camp, and there have been changes to the team that surprised many by reaching the Eastern Conference final last season. Gone are captain Brian Gionta and veteran defenceman Josh Gorges, both now with the Buffalo Sabres. Tough guy George Parros is gone. Rearguard Douglas Murray was let go, and veteran Francis Bouillon was not signed but was invited to camp on a try-out. Jorge De La Rosa Jersey. Newcomers include Malhotra, right winger Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau and defenceman Tom Gilbert. There will be competition in camp for the job of backup goalie to Carey Price between incumbent Peter Budaj and Dustin Tokarski. Tokarski looked good late in the season and Therrien opted to put him in when Price was injured in the opening game of the conference final against the New York Rangers. That decision seemed to hang Budaj out to dry, but he has a year left on a contract that pays US$1.4 million while Tokarski is on a two-way deal, although both would have the clear waivers if sent to AHL Hamilton. There is also a battle for one or perhaps two spots on defence, with youngsters Nathan Beaulieu, Jarred Tinordi and Greg Pateryn the leading candidates. The 21-year-old Beaulieu may have the edge with a strong showing in the conference final after a call-up from Hamilton, but the rushing defenceman is not taking anything for granted. "The time to step up is now," said Beaulieu, who has adopted No. 28, which he wore in junior hockey with the Saint John Sea Dogs. "Theyre going to give me every opportunity and Ive got to show Im ready. "They did their part by giving me an opportunity at the end of last season and now its my turn to reward them." Beaulieu, drafted 17th overall in 2011, played 17 regular season NHL games and seven more in the playoffs in 2013-14. The six-foot-six Tinordi, picked 22nd overall in 2010, spent 22 games in Montreal last season, but sat out the post-season. The 24-year-old Pateryn had a good year in Hamilton with 15 goals and 19 assists. Trading Gorges will allow Alexei Emelin to move to the left side, likely with Gilbert. P.K. Subban, armed with his new eight-year $72 million contract, and Andrei Markov should be the first pair. There could be an opening for a young defenceman on the third pairing with veteran Mike Weaver, and for the seventh defencemans job. If they can show theyre better than 38-year-old Bouillon. Another spot that may be up for grabs is on right wing, where Parenteau, Brendan Gallagher and Dale Weise are the regulars. Jiri Sekac, a much sought-after 22-year-old Czech who signed as a free agent, has a shot at a job, along with hot Swedish prospect Jacob de la Rose and 2014 first-rounder Nikita Scherbak. The Canadiens are calling it a transition year in which they hope leadership shifts to younger stars like Price, Subban and goal-scoring leader Max Pacioretty. They opted for four alternates rather than replace Gionta as captain, with Subban and Pacioretty sharing an A along with veterans Markov and Plekanec. The team begins on-ice workouts Friday. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Oscar secured Chelseas victory in the second half after 19-year-old Kurt Zoumas debut goal was cancelled out by Bolton defender Matt Mills. Chelsea, which leads the Premier League, was immediately drawn to play fourth-tier side Shrewsbury in the fourth round on Oct. 28 or 29. Citys trophy defence will continue against Newcastle, which beat Crystal Palace 3-2 after extra time. Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard made it three goals in two games for City with a brace in the 7-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, which held the Premier League champions throughout the first half. A shock was on the cards at Tottenham when League Championship leader Nottingham Forest took the lead, but Ryan Mason levelled on his debut before Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane clinched a 3-1 victory. Tottenham will next face Brighton, which won 3-0 at Burton. Gareth McAuley and Saido Berahino scored two late goals inside a minute for West Bromwich Albion to overcome Hull 3-2 and set up a trip to Bournemouth. Liverpool, which beat Middlesbrough 14-13 in a marathon penalty shootout on Tuesday, was drawn Wednesday to face Premier League rival Swansea. The other fourth round fixtures will see Stoke host Southampton, Fulham play Derby and MK Dons take on Sheffield United. At a full Stamford Bridge, Chelsea overpowered Bolton from the start but struggled to score -- despite Andre Schuerrle coming close three times -- until Zouma stabbed the ball into the net in the 25th minute. "Hes waited patiently for a chance to play," Chelsea first-team coach Steve Holland said. Bolton hadnt been near Petr Cechs goal until equalizing six minutes later when Mills headed in off the post frrom a free kick. Brian McCann Jersey. At the start of the second half, Oscar headed a free kick straight at Bolton goalkeeper Andy Lonergan but netted his first Chelsea goal since March in the 55th, striking low inside the post. "It was a really quality strike," Holland said. "That moment of quality has made the difference, it has won the game." At the Etihad Stadium, Sheffield Wednesday held out until halftime but the 1991 cup winners conceded two minutes into the second half when Lampard met James Milners cutback. Then, the floodgates opened. Edin Dzeko and Jesus Navas scored a minute apart before Yaya Toure netted from the penalty spot on the hour after Kamil Zayatte was sent off for fouling Lampard. Dzeko headed in the fifth, 18-year-old Jose Angel Pozo was set up by Navas for a debut goal before Lampard completed Wednesdays woes. In north London, Forest stunned Tottenham in the 61st when Jorge Grant turned in Lars Veldwijks cross on his first start for the club. But, in a competition used to blood youngsters, Tottenhams equalizer -- from its first shot on target -- came from Mason, sending a strike swerving into the top corner. It took until the 83rd for Tottenham to go in front, with Soldado turning the ball into the net from Andros Townsends shot before Kane latched onto Erik Lamelas pass in stoppage time. On the south side of the capital at Selhurst Park, Dwight Gayle put Palace ahead with a penalty, but Emmanuel Riviere levelled and then put Newcastle in front with a spot-kick three minutes into the second half. But Palace forced the game into extra time by equalizing in the 90th through Sullay Kaikai, another player on Wednesday with a debut goal. Although Newcastle midfielder Mehdi Abeid was sent off, after being shown a second yellow card for a challenge on Wilfried Zaha, Paul Dummett headed in a winner for the 10-man visitors. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
TORONTO -- Dwane Casey saw it as a sign of maturity on the part of his young team. Eduardo Herrera Mexico Jersey . After a first half in which he thought "the lid was on the basket," the Toronto Raptors coach watched his squad mount a second half surge to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 98-91. "Thats another step in our growth," Casey said after Friday nights win at Air Canada Centre. "Last year at this time, if wed have missed shots like that wed have caved in. "But we kept grinding it, grinding it, grinding it and thats what you have to do when the shots arent falling." The Raptors (30-25) shot a woeful 32.7 per cent from the field in the first half and trailed 44-39. But, with second-year centre Jonas Valanciunas leading the way, Toronto shot an impressive 16-for 23, or 69.5 per cent, in the third quarter on the way to winning their fourth game in five starts. "We said we need to pick it up, we need to come out with energy," Valanciunas, who finished with 18 points and eight rebounds, said of the talk in the locker room at halftime. "Thats what it was all about. "We shot really bad the first half but we did a better job the second half and thats what matters." Valanciunas scored 10 of his 14 second-half points in the third quarter, including five in a row during a 4:07 stretch that saw the Raptors turn a one-point deficit into a 10-point lead. Second-year guard Terrence Ross had a team-high 20 points as the Raptors snapped the Cavaliers (22-34) six-game winning streak and widened their lead to 3-1/2 games over the idle Brooklyn Nets atop the NBAs Atlantic Division. With the win, the Raptors equalled the third-fastest time theyve reached the 30-win mark in team history, just one game off the best mark of 54 games in both the 2009-10 and 2007-08 seasons. The Raptors, who have missed the playoffs in each of the past five seasons, didnt win their 30th game until their 78th outing last year. Although Ross led the Raptors in scoring, it was his defensive play against Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving, who was named MVP of last weekends NBA All-Star Game, that drew rave reviews from his teammates. "Defensively, hes always been impressive, and hes getting better," Toronto guard Kyle Lowry said after Irving was held to 3-for-16 shooting on his way to 17 points. "I told him that on the bench tonight." Lowry had 14 points, nine assists and six rebounds. DeMar DeRozan added 14 points and five assists. Clevelands Luol Deng led all scorers with 21 points and added 11 rebounds while Tristan Thompson of Brampton, Ont., added 13 points and nine assists and Anthony Bennett, also from Brampton, who last spring became the first Canadian to ever go first overall in the NBA draft, had nine points in his first game here. "We just had to pick up our defensive intensity," Ross said of the message delivered at halftime. "The biggest thing, we were coming out, playing too lackadaisical and we had to pick that up." Toronto outscored Cleveland 37-21 in the third quarter to take control. Valanciunas made a layup with 7:22 to go in the quarter to put the Raptors up for good at 53-52. After Valanciunas and Amir Johnson combined for just four points in the first half, Casey said he gave the big men "a wake-up call" going into the second half and they responded at both ends of the court. "We reminded them theres more to the game than the offensive end," Casey said. "You can get rebounds. You can get back in transition. You can challenge shots and you can go vertical. "You can do a lot of different things other than make shots and I thought the second half (they) worked at it and got it done." Andres Guardado Mexico Jersey . Given a chance to do the same at Madison Square Garden, the St. Louis Blues blue-liner made the most of his opportunity. Shattenkirk fired in the tiebreaking power-play goal early in the third period, and the Blues got the best of New York again in a 2-1 victory Thursday night. "There were a lot of emotions going through my body, but after the first couple of shifts it just felt like a hockey game again," Shattenkirk said. "Once the goal happened, even more of a relief. I was happy and you could hear some people cheering." Shattenkirk had his own rooting section. He secured 20 tickets himself, but estimated that 60 or 70 people he knows got tickets on their own to watch him play. He could hear them when he one-timed a pass from Alex Pietrangelo through a screen and past goalie Henrik Lundqvist -- a la Leetch -- at 3:09 for his eighth goal of the season. "There are a lot of things that I watched in him growing up, and he was a very special player. I try to emulate him as best as I can," Shattenkirk said. "Those were areas that he always shined in." Alexander Steen also had a goal for the Blues before leaving late in the second period with a lower-body injury. David Backes had two assists, and Jaroslav Halak made 34 saves in beating Lundqvist in a matchup of Olympic goalies. New Yorks Rick Nash scored his sixth goal in four games -- netting at least one in each -- but Shattenkirk took advantage of Nashs slashing penalty, scoring 9 seconds into the power play. Lundqvist made 23 saves in his return from a one-game absence caused by the flu. He allowed fewer than three goals for the seventh straight game, but still couldnt find a way to stop the Blues -- the only NHL team he has never beaten (0-4). "I was moving the way I wanted to," Lundqvist said. "I am happy with the way I played, but its still very disappointing to not come out of here with at least one point." St. Louis, which killed all three Rangers power plays, swept the two-game season series and has won seven of the past eight meetings. The Blues, beaten 7-1 at New Jersey on Tuesday, have earrned points in eight straight visits to Madison Square Garden. Carlos Pena Mexico Jersey. This was their first since Nov. 7, 2010. "Its shameful that we havent been here more often," Backes said. "You see the crowd, youre in the city for a day or two, you feel that hype, and you know what playing the New York Rangers brings. I think it brought the best out of us." The Rangers got even late in the second on Nashs team-leading 17th goal. Derek Stepan sent a pass from behind the net to Nash, who stepped into a slap shot from the dot in the left circle and ripped a drive past Halak with 1:43 left. New York pressured the Blues for the remainder of the period and drew its second power play in the closing seconds. "We had a couple good looks," Rangers captain Ryan Callahan said, "a couple Grade-A chances there right in front. We just didnt get one past them there." The Rangers outshot the Blues 28-18 through 40 minutes. "Theyre a team that if we wouldve taken off the gas for 60 seconds, it couldve been 3-2 the other way in a heartbeat," Backes said. Steen gave the Blues a 1-0 lead with his 26th goal. A pass from Jaden Schwartz hit Steens right skate in front of the crease, caromed off Lundqvists stick and skate and trickled in at 8:38. The goal was briefly reviewed by video replay, and it was determined that the puck wasnt kicked into the net. It was the fifth straight goal allowed by the Rangers since they had a 3-1 lead over the Islanders in the second period on Tuesday in a 5-3 loss. A late power-play goal was the winner in that one, too. Steen struggled to get to the bench after going hard into the boards in the second, but he was back soon after on the power play. He skated off for good with 2:57 left in the period. Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said Steen is day to day. NOTES: Nash has 21 goals and 40 points in 50 games versus the Blues. ... Steen has 14 career points against the Rangers and 12 in the past seven games -- including six goals. ... Schwartz played in his 100th NHL game. ... Blues C Maxim Lapierre was activated from the injured list after missing five games due to a lower body injury. ... Newly acquired D Kevin Klein made his Rangers debut. ... St. Louis C Derek Roy was a healthy scratch. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
HALIFAX -- The Nova Scotia government plans to spend $600,000 over the next two years to bring a professional golf tournament to Halifax. Dalvin Cook Youth Jersey . The government says top golfers are expected to compete in the PGA Tour event at the Ashburn Golf Club in the suburb of Fall River from July 3-6 and again next year. The Nova Scotia Open is the only Canadian stop on the PGAs Web.com Tour. Tourism Minister Michel Samson says the event is expected to be televised on the Golf Channel to a potential audience of 81 million households in 192 countries. As well, the PGA Tour Canada Cape Breton Celtic Classic will held Sept. 1-7 at The Lakes Golf Club in Ben Eoin. Nova Scotia will be the only province in Canada to play host to two PGA Tour events this year. The PGA Tour had previously released the schedule for its 25-event Web.com Tour before Tuesdays announcement by the province. In addition to Nova Scotia, it also added new tournaments in Oregon and Ohio. The top 25 players on the Web.com money list earn PGA Tour cards for the following year. The Nova Scotia Open will be held at Ashburns new course, a 7,014-yard, par-72 layout that opened in 1970. The tournament will feature a field of 156 golfers competing for a purse of US$650,000. Dalvin Cook Vikings Jersey . Its other five picks were all six foot or better, with three at 6-1 or above. After striking out four straight times, Carter snapped a ninth-inning tie with a colossal three-run homer Tuesday night that extended his second-half power surge and sent the Astros to a 7-4 victory over the New York Yankees. "I was just trying to hit it and put it in play. My first four at-bats, I didnt do anything," Carter said with a smile. "I went up there in the last at-bat and just tried to forget about it and regroup." Marwin Gonzalez knocked in two runs with a pinch-hit single, and the fourth-place Astros (53-73) won for the third time in four meetings with the Yankees this year. Despite a $154 million difference in opening-day payroll, Houston took two of three at home against New York to begin the season. "Shows us that were on the right track," winning pitcher Josh Fields said. "Were playing a lot better baseball than last year." Brian McCann hit a two-run homer, and Martin Prado had three hits for the Yankees, who dropped the opener of a six-game homestand against two teams with losing records. New York fell four games out of a playoff spot. "We were able to come back and tie the game up and we let it slip away," manager Joe Girardi said. David Robertson (1-4) walked consecutive batters and threw seven straight balls before Carter launched a 3-0 pitch into the raised concrete bleachers in left field for his 30th home run. "I tried to make a good pitch down and away. Instead, I threw it right into his bat path, and he put it 30 rows deep," Robertson said. "I struggled out there tonight and I blew it for our team." Carter, the reigning AL player of the week, is batting .340 with eight homers and 19 RBIs in his past 13 games. He leads the majors with 17 home runs and 42 RBIs since July 1. "It was like somebody flipped a light switch," Fields said. Fields (3-6) tossed a scoreless eighth on his 29th birthday. With the infield in, Jacoby Ellsbury was thrown out at home on a one-out grounder to shortstop by slumping Carlos Beltran. Chad Qualls worked a perfect ninth for his 14th save. Prado singled in the fourth off starter Brett Oberholtzer before McCann drove an 0-2 pitcch into the second deck in right for his 14th homer. Pat Elflein Youth Jersey. Robbie Grossman hit a two-out RBI single in the fifth, and Houston chased Chris Capuano on his 36th birthday during a three-run sixth. Fowler led off with a triple and scored on Jason Castros tying groundout. After consecutive singles, both runners moved up when Jake Marisnicks groundout deflected off reliever Adam Warren. Astros manager Bo Porter pushed the right button, lifting No. 9 batter Gregorio Petit for a left-handed hitter even though Petit had doubled both times up. Gonzalez hit a two-run single that gave Houston a 4-2 lead. It was the first run-scoring hit by a Houston pinch hitter since Jesus Guzman had an RBI single against Texas on May 14. "I didnt think that I was going in that early," Gonzalez said. "Bo told me like 10 minutes before." Prado tied it in the bottom half with a two-run double that ended Oberholtzers night. ON THE GREEN Tiger Woods was on the field during batting practice before heading to the runway behind the Yankees dugout, where the golf star greeted injured New York pitcher Masahiro Tanaka and then Astros outfielder Dexter Fowler. TRAINERS ROOM Astros: Guzman was activated from the disabled list, and LHP Darin Downs was placed on the 15-day DL, retroactive to Aug. 15, with a strained muscle on his right side. Guzman had been sidelined since Aug. 2 because of back spasms. ... OF Alex Presley, sidelined since July 8 with a strained right oblique, joined the team to receive treatment but wont be activated from the DL for a while. Yankees: Tanaka (elbow) plans to throw another bullpen Wednesday. ... Girardi said a decision on whether to use RHP David Phelps (elbow inflammation) as a starter or reliever when he gets back probably will depend on how long hes out. UP NEXT Yankees RHP Michael Pineda (2-2, 1.82 ERA) makes his second start since a long injury layoff in the second game of the series. RHP Scott Feldman (6-9, 4.45) gets the ball for Houston. BAD TIMING Robertson had gone 27 games without giving up a home run since Josh Willingham connected for Minnesota on June 1 at Yankee Stadium. PORTLAND, Ore. Jurickson Profar Jersey . - Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts cautioned that its January, a little early for NBA regular-season games to be played with playoff intensity. Not too early for the Los Angeles Clippers, who admitted Wednesday nights game had a post-season feel, as they rallied during the final six minutes to beat Portland, 100-94.Jamal Crawford scored 25 points and the go-ahead basket on a 3-pointer with 3:55 remaining as the Clippers came back from a six-point fourth-quarter deficit.Chris Paul scored 23 and DeAndre Jordan had 17 points and 18 rebounds for Los Angeles (26-13).LaMarcus Aldridge had 37 points and 12 rebounds for Portland (30-9). Aldridge, who missed his season high by two points, went 14 of 28 from the floor. Both teams went to their benches sparingly. Eight players played for each and neither team led by more than nine points. There were periods, particularly the end, when things turned physical and incredibly intense. Its one of those rare regular-season, playoff-type of games, Los Angeles coach Doc Rivers said. Theyre a lot of fun to get into, but you dont get a lot of those. We didnt go into it that way, but it turned into that. The Clippers ended Portlands four-game winning streak after falling behind 85-79 with 6:41 remaining. They went on a 10-3 run, taking an 89-88 lead on two Paul free throws, then grabbed the lead for good on Crawfords fourth 3-pointer of the game. Each team had a key contributor from its bench. For Portland, it was centre Meyers Leonard, who had 10 points and 11 rebounds. For the Clippers, it was Crawford, who led the team in scoring after hitting 10 of 22 shots. Our bench had 25 points tonight. It was one guy, Rivers said.Los Angeles won largely due to its defence. The Clippers held Portland, one of the NBAs most prolific 3-point shooting teams, to 6 of 26 from the arc. Los Angeles also kept Blazers point guard Damian Lillard under control, holding him to 15 points on 5 of 16 shooting. Its good for us. Weve won a lot of games with offence. Tonight we won by getting stops, Paul said.Crawford said playing Portland, which came in tied with Golden State for most wins in the NBA, provided the Clippers with some motivation.Them being one of the better teams in the league, us being one of the best teams in the league, and obviously the whole country was watching, so it was a really good game, Crawford said. Its one of our better wins. For Portland, Chris Kaman had 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Blazers trailed the entire first half, despite 22 points from Aldridge. Portland pulled to within 50-49 at halftime on two late free throws by Nicolas Batum.Los Angeles led by as many as seven during the third quarter, but Portland eventually wiped out the deficit, as Leonard hit two free throws with 1:26 remaining to tie the score at 72.Lillard triggered a Portland surge early in the fourth, as his 3-pointer gave the Blazers an 85-79 lead. But the Clippers controlled the final six minutes, outscoring Portland 21-9.Usually in the fourth quarter when we have the lead with five minutes to go, were pretty good in those situations. Give the Clippers credit; they made plays. They got stops when they needed to, Stotts said.TIP-INSClippers: Los Angeles signed G Dahntay Jones to a 10-day contract Wednesday. Jones, a 10-year NBA veteran, has been playing for Fort Wayne in the NBA Development League, averaging 14.4 points and 3.4 rebounds a game. ... Portland leads the NBA in 3-point field goal defence at .287, but the Clippers had some success, going 8 of 23.Trail Blazers: After playing eight of its past nine games at home, Portland plays three of its next four on the road, at San Antonio, Memphis and Phoenix. ... The Blazers play seven road games during the final 15 days of January.PAUL SAVES BEST FOR LASTPaul didnt shoot a free throw until the fourth quarter, when he went 10 of 10, including six during the final 1:16. Paul is seventh in the NBA in free-throw shooting at .899.UP NEXTClippers: Friday at home against ClevelandTrail Blazers: Friday at San Antonio Elvis Andrus Rangers Jersey . This is not some token job for a prominent, popular former player. All of those areas need a lot of work, so Molitor is going to be busy. "Hes certainly got a history and knowledge and a high baseball IQ," general manager Terry Ryan said. Ian Desmond Jersey .Y. -- Syracuse guard Trevor Cooney was mired in a shooting slump, and his woes coincided with a late-season swoon by the Orange.Baseball has one of the best fan experience in sports, and 20 years ago today that was taken away from the people that love it the most. Strikes and lockouts have not been a rarity in the professional sports world, but there is one that many will not forget.  The 1994 Major League Baseball Players strike, which led the sport to lose its entire postseason due to a labour dispute, the first time that happened in a North American sports league. One of the main disputes that caused the Players to walk off the job was that the Owners wanted to install a salary cap, while the players opposed the idea. That disagreement plus a few others, led to a 232-day strike, cancelling not only the remainder of the regular season but also the postseason. The Montreal Expos were arguably the team that suffered the most; they had the best record in baseball, 74-40, despite having the second lowest payroll.  They were six games ahead of the Atlanta Braves in the National League East Division when the season came to a halt.  Success in strike years was not something new for the Expos, the only time the team punched their ticket to the playoffs was in 1981, during the last significant players strike.  Following the resumption of the sport, the Expos moved a lot of their star players, which lead to an even bigger erosion of the fan base. Montreal was not the only market hit hard by the stoppage, many fans around the league decided too opt out of games when the players returned to the field. Nolan Ryan Rangers Jersey. Attendance was at an all-time low, dropping 20% from the previous season.  In 1994, prior to the strike, the average attendance was 31,256 in 1,600 games, while in 2,016 regular season games of the 1995 season they drew an average of 25,008 fans. Interest in the game was slow to return until the 1998 season when Chicago Cubs outfielder Sammy Sosa and St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Mark McGwire started hitting home runs at record paces. The two sluggers may be the reason the love for baseball returned, their chase for the all-time single season home-run record grabbed the attention of former and current die-hard fans as well as casual viewers.  The two players were looking to surpass New York Yankee Roger Maris record of 61 homers which he hit during the 1961 season.  Both men had a competitive drive, but their personalities and newly formed friendship also helped them grab peoples attention. Maris single season record fell that year as Mark McGwire finished with 70 home runs and Sammy Sosa ended the season with 66 round trippers and though those marks have since been cast into doubt, there is no question about the lasting effect their work that season had on restoring fans of the game. Its been 20 years since the strike, how long did it take you to forgive baseball and come back? As always its Your! DALLAS -- Former Dallas Cowboys tackle Josh Brent was released from jail on Sunday following his conviction for a drunken car crash that killed his friend and teammate, Jerry Brown, the Dallas County sheriffs office said. Leonard Fournette Youth Jersey . The 26-year-old Brent was convicted in January of intoxication manslaughter for the December 2012 crash that killed Jerry Brown, a Cowboys practice squad player. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail and 10 years probation. It was not immediately clear whether he would be required to report to a rehab facility to complete his six-month sentence, which was expected to end in July. Brent crashed his Mercedes sedan on a suburban Dallas highway on the way back from a nightclub. Brown was in the passengers seat. Witnesses recalled seeing Brent trying to pull Brown from the wreckage of the vehicle. Tests later showed Brent to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.18 per cent, more than twice the legal limit for drivers in Texas. Brent faced up to 20 years in prison for intoxication manslaughter, and prosecutors pressed hard for prison time, saying his case would send a message to other would-be drunken drivers. But Browns mother, Stacey Jackson, testified she had forgiven Brent and that "you cant go on in life holding a grudge." Brent and Brown were college teammates at the University of Illinois and roommates in Texas, where Brown was a practice squad linebacker for the Cowboys. Brent was a defensive tackle for the Cowboys. He retired from the NFL months before his January trial, though he could attempt to be reinstated now that he has been released. Its unclear whether the NFL will suspend him before he can play again. At least one Cowboys player, linebacker Sean Lee, attended part of Brents trial, and owner Jerry Jones has said he is supportive of Brent. Dede Westbrook Youth Jersey . With the conference finals set and the coaching carousel spinning, they Weave To Achieve on Steve Kerr, the threat of Donald Sterling in 2014-2015 and the NBAs Final Four. With Steve Kerr accepting the job to coach Golden State, who does Phil Jackson hire in New York? Watson: While all roads lead to the man in the mirror, I think the Zen Master will look towards a pupil who understands the triangle offense and one that he can also puppeteer from afar. Not that hes not his own man, but Derek Fisher is a name that sounds like a fit. Its not like Kerr was coming to the Knicks with coaching experience, so clearly thats not an issue. My dark horse pick is Mark Jackson making a return to New York, with something to prove. McPeak: I think Phil is definitely going to go for someone who he coached as a player, or was part of his coaching staff while he was in Los Angeles. Derek Fisher, Tyronn Lue and Kurt Rambis have been some of the names thrown around since Kerr signed with Golden State.  The tough job will be getting someone who is willing to deal with the front office meddling that we have seen and with the personality of Knicks owner James Dolan, who said Phil was going to have complete control but then reportedly said he didnt think Kerr was "the right fit".  Rambis would be the best fit because he has experience coaching and has coached alongside Jackson in The Triangle offence.  If you go away from the triangle offence and just allow the coach to implement their style, I wouldnt be surprised if Lionel Hollins name was in the mix also, because he has experience both as a head coach and assistant.  But I have a feeling and wont be surprised if in the end, the Zen Master himself ends up on the sideline again. Strickland: After Kerr spurned the cold of Gotham, the short money and coaching term of James Dolans offer, because yes, it is he and not Phil Jackson who signs the check, the Zen Master is in quite the conundrum. The natural fit, aesthetically at least, would be former NBA Rookie of The Year, native New Yorker and former Knickerbocker himself, the displaced Mark Jackson. But coming out of a meddlesome and distasteful ownership situation in Golden State and into one of the worst in The Association wont bring him home. OKC Thunder ageless backup PG Derek Fisher won five rings with Phil and knows The Triangle, which Jackson wants to run in New York. Fisher would be a decent fit despite lacking coaching experience and what seems to be an overwhelming desire to be more a front office guy than bench boss. Congrats to Kurt Rambis, new patsy... ahem… head coach of the New York Knicks! After Being Ousted From The Playoffs, Whats Next For The L.A. Clippers? Watson: Aside from the Donald Sterling drama, this team needs to retool. Not necessarily blow it all up, but the Clippers have witnessed the growth of DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin this season, in addition to the likes of veterans J.J Reddick, Danny Granger, Hedo Turkoglu and Glenn Davis and it still wasnt enough. "The best point guard in the game" cant get them over the hump and without a conference finals appearance to speak of, its clearly not enough. Doc Rivers has a busy summer in front of him. McPeak: Honestly, its hard to say for certain.  The Clippers have been through a lot within a short period of time with the Donald Sterling saga. They should take some time for themselves to think about what they want to do about next season.  We already know that Sterling is going to try and drag this out as long as possible. Does that mean that the players and coaching staff opt out and take Commissioner Silver on his word and try to work something out to play elsewhere?  Do we see them stay together and try to piggy back off this season, take the momentum into next season for another run? If the league does everything within its legal powers regarding Sterling and its then left to the judicial system, maybe we will see the Clippers make another run at the Larry OBrien trophy. Strickland: Adam Silver and the other 29 owners of the NBA are either dragging their collective feet or bracing for years of litigation while exercising what may be necessary due diligence to get this Donald Sterling thing right. Whatever the case, time may not be in their side or the Clippers. It could get ugly quick. With the Draft and impending free agency coming in the next six-plus weeks, the face of Clipper franchise cant have Donald Sterling stains on it or the results could be cataclysmic not only for LA but the entire NBA. Eastern Conference Finals: Pacers-Heat - Who Wins and Why? Watson: No easier question has been asked since the inception of the Three Man Weave. This is far from the same Pacers team that played in the NBA Playoffs last year. The Pacers cant get it together, even struggling against the Wizards. Miami is in fine playoff form and ready for a fourth consecutive trip to the NBA Finals. Heat in fivee. Cam Robinson Jersey. McPeak: Pacers. Yes they have been very inconsistent. Yes they plummeted the last eight weeks of the regular season. Yes there was a national manhunt for Roy Hibbert until Game 7 of the Hawks series.  But they managed to play through all of that to get what they wanted all along: a repeat matchup with the Heat and another shot at the NBA Finals.  Indy has the ability to hit the reset button and play the way many expected them to play all playoffs.  They can rise to the occasion and go chest to chest with the two-time defending champs. But to do that, the Pacers need Roy Hibbert to be ROY HIBBERT.  He cant shy away. Big Roy needs to dominate the paint the way he did in the first four months of the season.  Lance Stephenson, when he isnt making bonehead plays, is a great facilitator. If he can get the ball to the right people in the right places at the right time, Stephenson can also be big for the Pacers. At the end of the day, the Pacers just need to give the effort many expect from them. Strickland: Heat in six. The Pacers are just too emotionally fragile to believe they can beat the Heat four times in a seven game series. On paper and in reviewing last years Eastern Conference Finals, sure, Indy has a shot. Thats it - a shot. Paul Georges uneven playoff performances vs lesser competition in Atlanta and Washington, as well as rumours of infighting, dysfunction and The Invisible Man Act of Roy Hibbert have hurt this team. Miami has championship pedigree, has taken care of their business with relative efficiency... and they still have the biggest x-factor in the game: LeBron Raymone James. Western Conference Finals: Spurs-Thunder - Who Wins and Why? Watson: This series goes seven games, although Im not quite sure for who. The balance and steadiness of the Spurs is a definite advantage, however the energy and drive of the Thunder is too compelling for me. KD, the MVP is playing like one and Westbrook is competing at just as high of a level. If Parker is slowed with this hamstring injury it makes him mortal and puts a little more work on the Coach of the Year. The Thunder have continually found ways to win and I dont think its going to stop in the Western Conference Finals. McPeak: Spurs.  As good as the Thunder are, I dont think they can win long term with Westbrook playing with a score-first mentality. When he takes more shots than Durant, OKC struggles to win.  When you break down what the Thunder do offensively, they dont actually run anything. When the play completely breaks down and becomes stagnant, the Thunder dont look good.  Serge Ibaka suffered a calf injury and is questionable to play. The Thunder need him because he can extend the defence and knock down the long two and occasional three-pointer. Tony Parker is dealing with the hamstring injury so it will be interesting to see how he comes out, however the Spurs have played and won without him this season.  San Antonio has things rolling so well in the way they execute on both ends that it will be tough for the Thunder to get four wins. Strickland: The Spurs lost all four games in the regular season to the Thunder... and it means absolutely nothing right now. With news that OKC starting PF and third-leading scorer Serge Ibaka will be out for the remainder of the playoffs,  that sweep means even less.  MVP Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook will have to summon four of their greatest games of the season, along with help by committee from their entire roster. It probably wont matter as the Spurs are peaking at the right time, in relative good health and solid from Man one to Man 12 on their roster. Spurs in six. Watching the first round of the NBA Playoffs, did you think the #1 and #2 seeds from each conference would be playing in their respective conference finals? Watson: The first round of the 2014 NBA Playoffs was easily the best ever witnessed. While I had little doubt the Heat would be here, the Pacers and Spurs both provided scares. Ultimately, this is how it was set out to be and there have been challenges along the way for all top seeds, which makes this upcoming showdown all the more compelling. Good job Adam Silver! McPeak: Spurs, Thunder and Heat were expected. The Pacers I did not expect to be in the Eastern Conference Final based on how they finished the regular season, and the first two rounds of the playoffs.  Indy was just flat out bad and were lucky to get past the Hawks and Wizards, eventually resembling something more like the Pacers we saw start the season so well. Strickland: Indeed. Despite all the hand wringing, wishing and praying in Dallas, Memphis, Atlanta and Washington, the NBA Playoffs are not a live version of Hoosiers or March Madness. The cream more often than not rises to the top over a seven game series and this dictum rings true here with these four teams, the last standing in the quest for the 2013-2014 Lawrence OBrien Trophy. Good luck to them all! Jordans 2017 is also bringing us the original style of the Air Jordan 11. The two will feature a high cut patent leather with peaks, both were seen on the original release, the University of North Carolina. This isn't the only Air Jordan 11 set to release, as there will also be a "Chicago" pair in Gym Red available early December. Jordan Brand will be paying tribute to MJ's college and professional career with the debut of the "UNC" and "Chicago" releases during the holiday season. This Air Jordan 11 features a White mesh upper with University Blue Jumpman branding and Midnight Navy appearing on the lining, heel, and patent leather mudguard.
Some other minor details to this New Jordans 2016 release includes a more traditional look of the Jumpman branding where the ball is facing the "23" PE on the heels unlike last year's Space Jam 11 Retro. The classic basketball sneaker is simply covered in a white mesh upper with leather accents on the heel, while the midnight navy hue is used for its patent leather mudguard and inner lining. Hits of university blue are seen on the Jumpman logo for a nice touch, and completing the look is a white midsole and icy translucent outsole.
For years now, Cheap Jordans 2017 has made a habit of releasing a pair of Air Jordan 11s right around the Holiday season and 2017 will be no different. Believed to be inspired by Michael Jordan’s alma mater, this Air Jordan 11 Mid features a White ballistic nylon mesh on the upper with Midnight Navy detailing on the OG patent leather mudguard, inner liner, heel, and the branding on the tongue. The Jumpman on the ankle and tongue are done in University Blue to complete the UNC connection. The "White/Midnight Navy- University Blue" Air Jordan 11 is built on a white upper with "Midnight Navy" patent leather, UNC blue Jumpman branding, and an icy blue outsole.
